Description: My name is Coal and I am a neutered male, black Domestic Shorthair.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 12 weeks old.
Weight: I weigh 3.92 lbs.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since May 27, 2026.
THIS ANIMAL IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!
We are open 7 days a week from 12 pm – 5 pm for walk-in adoptions.
When you decide which animal you want to meet, join our virtual waitlist (follow instructions on the sign in front of the shelter to join using your phone).
If you don't have a smartphone, a staff member can put you on the waitlist after we open.
All you have to do is look at Coal and he starts purring.
Summary of Personality: Coal loves people. He plays with his siblings and is the first to come over to snuggle with the nearest lap/shoulder. He loves catnip toys, wand toys and running up cat trees.
Home Life (experience with kids & other pets, etc): Coal was raised with his siblings, an adult cat, a large labrador and adults. He does well with all. He hasn’t met children but has a sweet nature that I think would work well with them.
Include any observations: Coal is litter box trained.
