I have been at the shelter since Aug 01, 2026.
Ryland is a handsome Rough Collie/Australian Shepherd mix estimated to be about 2 years old, and he is one very sweet boy who is still learning that the world can be a safe place.
Ryland is very scared, under socialized, and just about everything around him can feel overwhelming right now. He isn’t quite ready to be your typical outgoing, playful dog. He currently allows petting (though has not learned to enjoy it yet), and when he feels frightened, his first instinct is to get away. Because of this, Ryland is a flight risk and will need an adopter who understands the importance of careful handling and keeping him secure.
He has a gentle heart underneath all that fear, and we believe there is a wonderful dog waiting to blossom with the right person by his side.
Ryland will need an experienced adopter who has worked with under socialized or fearful dogs and is willing to give him the time, patience, and consistency he needs.
He will do best with someone willing to let him go at his own pace, build his confidence, and show him that he is safe, loved, and finally home.
