Doggy Day Out Report

Today I: I went on a 5 mile walk at Almaden Lake Park. I had such a great time taking in all the sights and sniffs. I also loved sticking my head out the window during the car ride. It was a great day!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Friendly, Sweet, Curious

Notes from My Walker: Another fun outing with Knight! He was really excited in the
beginning but then quickly calmed down so I could leash him up. He hopped into the car on his own and enjoyed looking out the window during the ride. He did amazing on the trail- he just likes to walk in front of you but doesn’t pull at all. He was non-reactive to almost everything on the trail- people, bicycles, and wildlife. When he sees another dog, he just freezes and stares unless they bark at him first. Then he gets excited and will want to go over to say hi. Knight likes treats and can “sit” and “lie down” on command. Today I also learned that he really likes plushy toys as he held one in his mouth on the entire way back to the car. Overall, he’s the sweetest dog who would make a great companion to anyone!

Doggy Day Out Report
Today I: I went on a 5 mile walk at Shady Oaks Park. I had such a great time taking in all the sights and sniffs. I also loved sticking my head out the window during the car ride. It was a great day!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Friendly, Sweet, Curious

Notes from My Walker: This was my second time taking out Knight. He definitely
recognized me and I got to see more of his personality this week. He’s a very lively and happy-go-lucky pup. He was a bit excited at first but then quickly calmed down so I could leash him up. He hopped into the car on his own and enjoyed looking out the window during the ride. He did amazing on the trail- he didn’t pull at all and he would constantly check in with me throughout the walk. He was non-reactive to almost everything on the trail- people, bicycles, wildlife, and very loud construction trucks. For the most part he just freezes and stares at other dogs unless they bark at him first. Then he gets excited and will want to go over to say hi. Knight likes treats and can “sit” and “lie down” on command. Overall, he’s the sweetest dog who would make a great companion to anyone!

Dog day out report from last week:

Today I: got to go on an adventure with a new friend! We went for a car ride, to two different parks and a Petco - all the places had lots of great sniffs to explore! Along with my ears, my new friend loved my alligator poses when I’d roll around and chomp on the grass, nom nom nom. But nothing was tastier than my friend’s Pup-peroni patties, yum! After a 3 mile walk around Kurte Park and the surrounding neighborhood, some landscapers interrupted our lounge time in the shade so we relocated to Branham Park and hung out there for awhile - I got to play with a tennis ball and exercised some more alligator poses! Before going back to the shelter, we explored a Petco, where I met another new friend who also had nommy treats; plus the A/C was really nice on this hot day!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Amiable, Sociable, Sweet-natured
Notes from My Walker: How has noone picked this handsome Knight to stand by their side?! Knight was a perfect gentleman our entire morning together: easy to harness up, jumps right into the car on his own, walks great on leash - continuously checked in with me, and though curious about other dogs, he was never forceful and was easy to manage during those times. He loves a good sniffing walk and would rather explore the smells than go on a long walk. He also loves rolling around on his back while trying to eat the grass - had me cracking up all morning with it. Loved all his joyful expressions, and his ears make them that much better too.

SVPP Dog Day Out Notes:
Today I: went to Jeffery Fontana Park and had so much fun! I jumped right into the car and was great for the drive. I was so excited when I got there, I jumped right out of the car and began sniffing all the things!

Three Words to Describe Me are: Sweet – Fun – Playful

Notes from My Walker: This sweet and fun boy did so well. He loves to sniff, but doesn’t pull hard, he walked so well on the leash! He does get overly excited by dogs going by, but after practicing sit and getting a treat, he quickly learned the drill and had no barking and minimal pulling as dogs passed by him. He didn’t mind bikes, strollers, runners and even some people who were playing bag pipes! He loves to roll - in the dirt, in the bark, in the grass - he just loves to roll around! We did around 4 miles and when I put Knight on the long lead leash to play in the grass, he had funny and playful zoomies. He has young and fun energy, but great manners and has a great “sit.” Knight would love an active family who can continue to train him since he’s a young boy who is very eager to please!
