From the foster home:
Clover is a sweet and timid girl who is clearly uneasy around humans. She was never aggressive and never growled, however she would cower, hide, and run away whenever around people. Yet at the same time it was clear she was curious - she was constantly in the vicinity but didn't want to fully engage. And when walking near her she would freeze and urinate in place.
She much preferred her time outside and being able to watch from the outside environment. We have a large fenced in yard. . .she LOVED being out there and you could see over the course of the first 24 hours at the house how much she began to relax out there. She was rompig and running and playing with balls. . .she didn't want us in her vicinity and was hypervigilant with us in proximity and would often run and hide for a bit.
It was cute to watch her on Saturday and into Sunday - as she began coming closer to the house when we were inside during the day and would throw a toy around in the backyard. She also found a stuffed animal she loved and would just kind of carry it with her (we sent it back with her) By Sunday she would kind of follow me around in the backyard while I was doing things but if I looked at her or made any attempt to engage she would run away.
Once comfortable in our backyard she was unreactive to other neighborhood dogs barking, or any other city type noises. However, when we had her on leash to attempt a walk or even get her in the car, those noises completely terrified her and she would cower and urinate. My lay person point of view - Clover is a dog who would do best in a calm home environment. Someone who has experience dealing with dogs who have had trauma and as a result would be willing to give her the love and patience necessary to thrive. She's a sweet girl and I hope she can find the right place for her as I believe in time she would continue to become more comfortable and confident and a member of the family.

Looking for a good luck charm. Meet Clover!
Clover is a 2 year old gorgeous lady that has been at our shelter since mid May. When she first came in, Clover had a few burns on her which have been healing nicely according to our medical staff. She never let this get her down though and has always been super friendly. She allows full handling and is easy to take out of the kennel. After being here for so long, Clover has shown sign of kennel stress and has been jumping and barking in the kennel. She has been on a behavior care package for about a month now for it.
But I am happy to report that she is starting to improve! She needs someone to adopt her soon so that she may continue this positive momentum. The shelter is a stressful place and she may start experiencing a lot kennel stress again.
Come in today and meet Clover! She would love to show off all her improvements and hopefully steal your heart.
