Due out: 10/16/26
2 year old male intact chihuahua/pom mix possibly hit by car with abrasions at chin and small abrasion at top of head. Vestibular with head tilt, falling over, and nystagmus, presumably related to reported trauma but other differentials include middle ear disease or other inflammatory or infectious neurologic issues. Patient also has mixed yeast/bacterial ear infections and was treated on 10/13 with Simplera ear medications in both ears. Patient also has a superficial corneal ulcer in the left eye and is being medicated with an antibiotic ointment in that eye.
In need of urgent rescue for ongoing suppportive care (anti-nausea medication support as needed) and monitoring of vestibular disease - if vestibular signs do not resolve in first 2 weeks, further diagnostics and referral may be needed. Ear recheck recommended at 4 weeks.
