A827312

Located At: Sacramento County Animal Care Services
Name: Shelter staff named me Sugar.
Description: I am a spayed female, brown brindle and white Pit Bull Terrier.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.
Weight: I weigh approximately 46.60 pounds.
More Info: I am in foster care. Please contact Foster Coordinators at foster@saccounty.gov for more information.
It’s Sugar here and about time for a foster update! Are you looking for a snuggle buddy? Then I’m your girl! I love to snuggle and give kisses. I’m potty trained and can proudly say I’ve never had an accident inside! Did you hear that -NEVER! I’m also crate trained, but I’d really love to sleep in the bed with you or on you. Who doesn’t like a good human pillow?!
My ideal day would consist of snuggling with my humans, going for a walk, a nice long nap, playing with my squeaky toys, and getting lots of treats (I’m a foodie).
Older dog savvy kids would be better for me as I can sometimes get too excited when playing, especially with my meatball figure.
I do best with slow introductions to new people, but if they give me treats (especially peanut butter & bananas) oh boy, you’re my new BFF.
No cats for me. I think they’re for chasing and foster mom says I shouldn’t do that.
Email my foster mom at megansfosterdogs@gmail.com if you need some extra Sugar in your life!

She’s short. She’s built like a picnic basket. She knows how to two-step. Her name is Sugar. “Well, my dad was a meatball and my mom was a cowgirl,” Sugar explained. “I had identity issues for a while, as you can imagine, but then I realized that it’s okay to be different. We’re all different, and we’re all worthy of love.” However, other dogs aren’t sure what to make of her meatball and cowgirl heritage. “They look at me weird, so then I look at them weird, and it’s a whole thing,” Sugar told us, sighing. “I think it would be best for everyone if I just went to a home with people and no dogs. I also don’t want to go to a dog park because they’ll start calling me Yeehaw Marinara, and again, it’s a whole thing.” “Due to my meatball genetics, I literally have to have a snack every 30 seconds to keep my blood sugar from dropping too low, so that’s why my name is Sugar,” Sugar said. (Our vets told us that this is absolutely not true, so please do not be fooled.) She first came to our shelter on Jan. 23, 2023.
