Winston is the definition of a good boy! This sweet, affectionate pup loves making new friends and is always ready for fun. He is good-natured and playful with other dogs and gentle with children. He loves to have a playmate around!
Since coming into foster care, Winston has grown so much. He now loves walks, enjoys car rides, and is always eager for a game or adventure. He is quickly learning commands like “come” and “sit.”
Winston is also a wonderful house guest. He’s fully potty trained and has been alone for up to 8 hours with no accidents. He sleeps comfortably in his kennel at night (he needs a little nudge to go in, but he’s fine once he’s in it!), does great when left home alone, and patiently waits by the door for his people to return. He loves slow mornings and will snuggle up to you and go back to sleep once you open his kennel door.
The only time he gets into mischief is when his foster parents are home but ignoring his requests to play, at that point he’ll grab a shoe, the remote control, or anything in reach that he shouldn’t have in an attempt to get attention. He also loves to nibble on things, especially his foster parents feet when he wants attention. We are working on teaching him no and learning to play only when it’s playtime, but it’s a work in progress since he still has puppy-like energy. He would thrive with a confident dog sibling who can help teach him the finer points of doggy etiquette.
He rarely barks (like less than once a week! It’s always a surprise when we hear a bark from him) and greets everyone who comes through the door as a potential new best friend.
Winston gets along well with other dog. We have taken him to the dog park several times, and while he’s one of the most playful pups there, he has good manners. He can get overly excited on walks, but he’s learning how to not pull the leash. If you're looking for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy and laughter to your home, Winston may be the perfect match.
