Hi there! I'm Masyn, named after Cardinals' shortstop Masyn Winn (my foster dad is a Cubs fan, but he knew better).
I'm a 12-year-old Certified Very Good Boi. My breed is a bit of a mystery - maybe Mastiff, maybe Boxer, maybe a little of this and a little of that - but what really matters is that I'm 100% sweetheart. I get along with everyone: dogs, cats, kids, and just about any human willing to offer a kind word and a gentle scratch behind the ears.
At this stage of my life, I've fully embraced the fine art of relaxation. I'm a gentle giant, a professional couch potato (although getting on the couch is a bit beyond my pay grade these days), and an expert companion for quiet evenings at home. I don't need long walks, endless entertainment, or a packed social calendar. I'm perfectly happy hanging out nearby, leaning against you for pets, and enjoying your company.
I do have arthritis, and it's pretty significant, so I take a couple of medications to help keep me comfortable. Don't worry -I take them like a champ, especially when they're wrapped in turkey. I may move a little slower these days, but I still enjoy life's important adventures, like car rides to get my nails trimmed, stopping for a pup cup, or making an emergency run for chickie nuggies. I just need a little help getting into the car.
If you're looking for a young, energetic dog who wants to run marathons, I'm probably not your guy. But if you're looking for a calm, loving companion who will quietly steal your heart and remind you every day that senior dogs are something special, I would love to meet you.
