Hi! My name is Luli, but my foster parents call me Lily. I don’t mind. I think Lily is a pretty name and it matches my flowery personality! They say I’m a year and a half old but my foster family thinks I may be a little older because I’m so well behaved. Every now and then I’ll throw them a bone and zoom around the yard which makes them believe I still have some puppy energy. I’m a reddish brown baby and weigh about 42 pounds now. My ears were professionally cropped but let me tell you, they’re still super expressive! I love to eat my kibble – yum! I also love bully bones and doggie ice cream! With the heat in St Louis, ice cream is THE BEST! I am a big ball of happiness and love everyone I meet. My foster parents tell me that not everyone loves the hugs I give them around their waists, but I still try because who doesn’t love to be hugged? My perfect day could be described as running around the yard, eating my breakfast, then taking a little rest. I absolutely want to be touching a human any time I lay down so I’ll lay on your feet or cuddle up next to you on the couch. My foster parents say I have a good “off switch” whatever that means. All I know is I love humans and I love to cuddle. I am extremely well behaved and my foster parents think I’ve had training. I will sit nicely when they put on my leash to take me outside and sit nicely when they take it off. Once, I tried to take myself for a walk but as soon as I heard my foster mom tell me to come back, I came right back. I didn’t want her to think I was a naughty girl! So far my foster parents haven’t found anything that scares me. I sleep through thunderstorms, unlike my scaredy-dog foster brother who hides in the corner. I’ve been really good in the house with only a couple of potty accidents when my foster parents weren’t looking. If my foster parents aren’t home, I go into a crate. I’m not a huge fan of the crate so sometimes they’ll throw a couple of treats in for me (don’t tell them, but I do that on purpose to get extra treats!). They had to get me a special crate because I’m an escape artist. It’s just because I miss them so much!! I really really really love people. I haven’t met any cats so I’m not sure what I’d do with them. I’ve met some little humans through gates and I really wanted to meet them for real. I think they’d love some of my hugs but my foster parents worry I might knock them down until I learn that jumping hugs aren’t ladylike. I have a doggie foster brother who I get along really well with. He’s 12 but still acts like he’s my age. He just gets more tired than I do after we play together. My foster parents waited a week for us to meet so that we could get to know each other through sniffs and seeing each other through gates. It was nice to get to know him like that before I met him face to face. I have had a litter of puppies – whew were they a lot of work! I’m told I was a “nervous mom” so I don’t plan on having any more of those little darlings. I’m looking for a forever home where I can be with my humans and help them cook, clean, rest, run, do yard work….. pretty much anything as long as I’m with them.
