Description: My name is Nanook.

I am a spayed female, black and white Siberian Husky.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since May 16, 2026.
At only 2 years old, this beautiful husky girl has already lived through a big life change after being surrendered through absolutely no fault of her own. But true to husky form, Nanook has decided that dwelling on the past is boring when there are adventures to be had, squirrels to supervise, and dramatic monologues to perform in the backyard.
Nanook is the kind of dog who wakes up every day like she’s been cast as the lead in an epic wilderness documentary. She’s smart, hilarious, affectionate, and just mischievous enough to keep life interesting. She will happily serenade you with classic husky commentary, redecorate your snowbanks, and remind you that personal space is a suggestion.
Underneath all that floof and personality is an incredibly sweet girl who truly loves her people. She thrives on companionship, activity, and having a purpose. Whether it’s hiking trails, running beside you, exploring cottage country, or simply patrolling a large fenced yard like the majestic snow queen she was born to be, Nanook is ready for a life that keeps both her body and brain engaged.
Her ideal home?
- An experienced dog owner who understands husky quirks
- An active lifestyle with lots of exercise and enrichment
- Space to run, play, and channel her inner sled dog CEO
- Someone who appreciates equal parts affection, chaos, and comedy
Nanook is not a “decorate your couch and go for one walk” kind of dog. She’s a “pack your hiking boots and prepare for an adventure buddy” kind of dog.
Please call the East Shelter to learn more about Nanook and to set up a meet and greet. 416-338-7297.
