I am a neutered male, brown brindle Mastiff.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Apr 28, 2026.
Meet Benji, a resilient soul who is looking for a dedicated partner to help him write his next chapter. Benji arrived at the shelter in rough shape and severely underweight, but despite his difficult past, his brave spirit shines through. He is currently on a journey toward healing, and he needs a special home that can provide the stability and love he truly deserves.
The wonderful news is that Benji is very food motivated! This is an incredible tool for his future family, as his intense love for treats will make training, bonding, and building up his confidence a much smoother and more rewarding process. Because of his history and current recovery needs, Benji requires an adult-only home with no kids. He also needs a house with a bit of space to heal properly, meaning he is not suited for apartment or condo living. His ideal adopter will be an experienced dog owner who is fully committed to his ongoing care, which includes keeping up with medical follow-ups, managing his diet, and helping him safely gain his strength back at a healthy pace.
While Benji’s path to full health will take time and patience, the reward of watching him transform will be unmatched. In the right hands, this deserving boy will thrive and offer a lifetime of deep loyalty in return. If you have the experience, the heart, and plenty of healthy treats to guide Benji through his recovery, please call the East Region at 416-338-PAWS (7297) to start the application process!
