Located At: Yolo County Animal Services
Description: I am a male, white Great Pyrenees.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 7 months old.
Weight: 71.00 pounds
More Info: I have been at the shelter since 05/04/2026.
Moose is one big, sweet, fluffy dog.
Looking for a gorgeous Great Pyrenees? Go no further…
He is the epitome of a “gentle giant”—calm indoors, gentle, likely good with children, needing moderate exercise (once he gets out of here…).
They are often described as “typically inactive in the house,” with many owners describing them as “100-pound couch potatoes."
A volunteer took him out on a couple of day trips. Here is her report:
Didn't want to load in the car at first but did go in and was a little nervous but quiet. Just needs practice…
Overall, he was absolutely awesome
In town, he was a great walking companion, friendly, checking in
Friendly with most people he met, shy with some.
Ignored or was uninterested in cats and small critters.
Appeared friendly with dogs he met.
Conclusion…Moose has a great disposition and is happy, playful, friendly, and cuddly,
and will be a welcome addition to someone's big house and yard!
