Bear (A111154) is a 13-year-old kitty who weighed nearly 17 pound on intake and is in need of a diet!
08/05/26 Bear, previously known as Arthus, was brought back to the shelter due to his previous owners going through a divorce and not being able to find pet-friendly housing in Fairbanks. Bear was described as being shy but friendly and affectionate. He was said to do well with kids, dogs and usually cats. He has only ever lived with two other cats, one he liked and one he didn't. It is unclear why he preferred one to the other, so we recommend using caution if planning to introduce him to other cats. He can be shy around strangers but warms up quickly. Bear was said to be litter box trained and to be gentle when playing. He was treated for ear mites on intake, but now he has been given the all clear for adoption! If you are interested in meeting this sweet, older boy, please give us a call!
07/20/17 Arthus was surrendered to the shelter because he was an intact male who was spraying in the house. Since his arrival at the shelter, Arthus has been neutered and has been using his litter box consistently! He is slightly timid, but is a very sweet boy who is looking for a loving home. Arthus has not been around dogs, and due to his shy nature would probably not enjoy living with one, especially a loud or energetic dog.
