Description: My name is Freya.

I am a spayed female, white and black American Pit Bull Terrier mix.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 6 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Sep 25, 2026.
Freya (A143589) is a 6-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix who arrived at the shelter severely malnourished.
Medical update: Freya is currently eating Purina Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon and Rice. She is allergic to egg, peanut butter, apples, lilac (Purina Sensitive Skin and Stomach Lamb and Rice contains egg). She is also on a medication for her allergies, Zenrelia, that she will need to remain on.
Foster update: Freya is house-trained and kennel-trained! She is doing great with the other dogs in her foster home and loves to play! She was stated to walk well on a leash, rides well in a vehicle, and loves to be warm (she looks great in a coat)! She is also very affectionate and is quite the couch potato!
10/15/26 Miss Freya was surrendered to the shelter due to needing urgent medical care. She had an emergency pyometra surgery and was sent to a medical foster for recovery and weight gain. She has steadily continued to gain weight and has no further activity restrictions! We have found that she needs to stay on a sensitive skin diet long-term and has been getting bathed while in foster with a prescription shampoo to help her skin irritation. Freya was started on a medication called Zenrelia that she needs to remain on. However, she is looking and feeling so much better! Freya is also on a 6ft leash restriction for at least another week while her hips heal. She is a very sweet girl looking for a home that will be able to continue her care and provide her with all the love she deserves! If you are interested in meeting Freya, please let us know!
