Description: Shelter staff named me Gere.
I am a male, white and black Chicken.
I am a male, white and black Chicken.
Age: The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 6 months old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Oct 28, 2026.
Gere (A143962) is a 1-year-and-6-month-old Silver Wyandotte Rooster who weighed 6.38 pounds on intake!
10/28/26 These two boys are Gere and Arnie! They were surrendered to the shelter because there were too many roosters in the flock, resulting in them beginning to fight. It was felt that they would do best in new homes with a better male-to-female ratio. We did find some bird lice on Gere so they were seen by the shelter vet. This is not unusual to find when chickens are surrendered to the shelter but a good reminder to initially keep them isolated from the rest of your flock. If you have room in the coop and are interested in meeting Arnie or Gere, please let us know!
