Age: The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old.
More Info: I have been at the shelter since Mar 20, 2026.
Meet Cliff, a gentle soul with a big heart. Cliff has a lot of love to give - he just needs a little time to feel comfortable and show it.
Cliff can be quite timid at first and can come across as reserved. He is a sensitive pup and the noise and chaos of the kennel can be a lot for him - he feels much more at ease in peace and quiet. With a little patience and time to build trust, he shows his sweet and loving side by checking in and leaning against you for pets and cuddles. In a home of his own, we expect his personality to shine more and more.
Cliff has been mild-mannered and easy to handle so far. He tends to move at an ambling pace on leash, taking his time to sniff. He knows how to sit and is gentle taking his treats. He also consistently keeps his kennel tidy, so we believe he is housebroken. So far he has been pretty low-key, but he gets bursts of playfulness and little zoomies as he grows more confident. With other dogs in play group he has been social with a gentle/dainty style.
Cliff tested positive for heartworm when he arrived at the kennel - but fortunately this is treatable, and his treatment is fully covered by Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland. He will just need to find a place where he can get through his rest and recovery following treatment, before he can start easing back into normal dog activities. We think he'll be grateful to be a couch potato in a quiet home.
Cliff is estimated to be around 3 years old and weighs 52 lbs.
